SALEM — The Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council will consider an appeal of a hearing officer’s order by the applicant of the proposed Troutdale Energy Center at its May 9 meeting in Portland.
The Council will review and consider a recommendation by Oregon Department of Energy staff to deny the appeal based on the fact it is prohibited under the Council’s rules. The department contends that the appeal is prohibited because the hearing officer’s March 3, 2014 order does not terminate the applicant’s right to participate as a party in the contested case.
Other items on the agenda include: • Staff will ask the Council to prioritize a list of future rulemaking opportunities. • Staff will provide an overview of the federal projects the department is tracking.
