Energy Facility Siting Council to meet September 18 in Boardman

SALEM — A proposed natural gas-fired electricity plant near Hermiston will be up for final approval at the next Energy Facility Siting Council meeting on September 18. The meeting is open to the public and begins at 9 a.m. at the Port of Morrow, 2 Marine Dr., in Boardman.
The main items on the Council’s agenda include: • Perennial Wind Chaser Station (Umatilla County): The Council will consider approval of the Application for Site Certificate for the proposed Perennial Wind Chaser Station natural gas plant. • Saddle Butte Wind Park (Gilliam and Morrow counties): The Council will consider the applicant’s request for an 18 month stay of the contested case proceeding. • Rulemaking: The Council will hold a public hearing, then consider public testimony and staff’s recommendation to adopt updated references of non-EFSC rules, codes, standards and laws.
