Oregon Global Warming Commission to Meet Virtually on August 4
SALEM – The Oregon Global Warming Commission will meet Wednesday, August 4, 2021. The public meeting will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. online.
At this meeting, the Commission will discuss and vote on a proposed natural and working lands carbon sequestration goal, in response to Governor Brown’s directive in Executive Order 20-04.
A draft of the proposal will be posted by July 19, 2021 on the Keep Oregon Cool website. Commission members have been asked to provide any proposed changes for posting on July 27, 2021. Members of the public are welcome to provide comments on the draft and any proposed changes by 12:00 p.m. on August 2, 2021. Public comments may be submitted through the contact form online or by email (oregon.GWC@oregon.gov). Members of the public will also have an opportunity to sign up for public comment at the beginning of the meeting.
The Commission will also hear an update on the work plan to develop a long-range agenda for meeting Oregon’s 2035 and 2050 emission reduction goals.
