Grounded Podcast: Oregon Energy Timeline Conversations: Nuclear Energy in Oregon with Tom Sicilia

On the second episode of a special Grounded series called Oregon Energy Timeline Conversations, we meet with ODOE’s Hanford Hydrogeologist, Tom Sicilia. Tom will share the state of nuclear energy in Oregon and a little about its past and potential future!

Tom Sicilia works for the Oregon Department of Energy and along with serving as the Hanford Hydrogeologist, he has been part of the Nuclear Safety Division since July 2018. Prior to joining the ODOE, Mr. Sicilia worked as an environmental consultant, where he characterized contamination, remediated waste sites, and optimized remedial systems. He holds a B.S. in Geology from Western Washington University, a M.S. in Hydrogeology from Clemson University, and is a Registered Geologist in the State of Oregon. While off the clock, he can be found gardening, hiking, or singing.
