Oregon Climate Action Commission to Meet Virtually on October 15

SALEM – The Oregon Climate Action Commission will meet on October 15, 2024. The public meeting will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. online. At this meeting, the Commission is pleased to introduce three new voting members appointed by the Governor’s Office and representing the following sectors:
Fishing Industry: Michael Seavers, Shoreside Management, F/V Miss Sue Incorporated
Environmental Justice: Eliza Garcia, States Associate with Climate Power
Youth Representative: Yaseen Arifin, student at Sunset High School, Beaverton
Also on the agenda is an overview from the Department of Administrative Services about its climate work. The Commission will focus a majority of the meeting reviewing and discussing draft recommendations for inclusion in the Commission’s Biennial Report that is due to the Legislature on December 1, 2024.

Input received by 12 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024, will be shared with Commissioners in advance of the meeting. Members of the public will also have an opportunity to sign up during the meeting to make oral comments.
