Weatherize Your Home

Many parts of Oregon have been hit with winter weather this year. Are you finding it difficult to heat your home and keep the warmth inside? Simple weatherization improvements can make a big difference for your comfort – and for your wallet! Seal

Make sure places where the air can escape or enter your home are properly sealed. Air can make its way around windows and doors or through leaky ductwork.

Weather-stripping and caulking can seal up your leaks. You can hire a professional to test for leaky spots to ensure you find them all.

Insulate

Adding insulation to your home is one of the easiest ways to improve your home’s heating and cooling.

Add insulation around your ductwork – especially where ducts are in unheated spaces like attics and crawlspaces. Ask a professional for guidance about what type and thickness of insulation is best for your home.

We Can Help!

Certain ductwork or insulation projects could qualify you for one of our residential incentive programs.

New ductwork or newly-sealed ductwork could earn you a Residential Energy Tax Credit, valued at up to $250.

If your home is primarily heated by oil, propane, kerosene, butane, or wood, you could be eligible for a cash payment up to $200 through our State Home Oil Weatherization Program for sealing and insulating ductwork in your home. Other insulation projects in your attic, ceiling, floors, or walls could earn you a cash payment up to $500.
