Oregon Climate Action Commission Recruiting New Members

The Oregon Climate Action Commission is seeking members to support its work and advance its statutory duties. Interested Oregon residents with experience in environmental justice, manufacturing, or the fishing industry are encouraged to apply for one of the commission’s vacant voting positions. The commission is also seeking a youth member (aged 16 to 24) to serve a two-year voting member term.

Energy Facilities Spotlight: Meeting the Standards

Oregon’s Energy Facility Siting Council, commonly called EFSC, is responsible for overseeing the development of large electric generating facilities, high-voltage transmission lines, gas pipelines, radioactive waste disposal sites, and other energy projects. EFSC has a set of standards that energy facilities must meet, including standards to protect natural resources, ensure public health and safety, and protect against adverse environmental effects.
