The Boardman to Hemingway Transmission Line, a proposed 300-mile, 500-kilovolt line, would travel through Malheur County.

Fun fact: Vale, the county seat for Malheur, was the first community Oregon pioneers would reach along the Oregon Trail. Now, you can charge up your electric vehicle in the historic community, before heading to the south side of town to see nearly 200-year-old wagon ruts alongside the road.
